Rodeo

This is a livestock event with a hundred years of tradition that has become international and hopes to be declared of Regional Tourist Interest.

To the Rodeo come dealers from the border area between Oliva de la Frontera and Villanueva del Fresno. That is, from the Portuguese regions of Barrancos, Reguengos and Monsaraz.
Another purpose of the livestock farmers is to graze the pastures of the property El Coto. As well as horses, there are also mules and donkeys, reaching up to a thousand heads. If we count the local cattle, pigs and goats, this figure rises to 4,000 animals gathered in the town on the first of May.

The Rodeo project aims to go from a deep-rooted tradition to a tourist and cultural attraction that will allow the population to settle and offer new employment and development alternatives.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 people usually meet at El Coto after the official opening of the Rodeo to attend the trade fair. They can visit the leather, craft, and gastronomy stands, taste a popular stew, and enjoy folkloric dances and various children's activities.
