Valencia de Mombuey and Zahínos together to attract tourists. Yesterday they held a joint presentation of their tourist offer in which their mayors, Manuel Naharro and Gregorio Gallego took the lead. Beforehand, a video was shown under the slogan "Vive la tradición, que no te lo cuenten" (Live tradition, don't let them tell you about it). Gregorio Gallego, Mayor of Zahínos, highlighted the cultural and scenic resources of his municipality, emphasising its commitment to livestock farming, which takes place in the fair on 1 May. In addition to the sale and purchase of equine livestock, there is also an exhibition of local products. "It is a tradition worth preserving and one that we want to pass on to our children, in which business is sealed with a handshake," said the mayor. Visitors to Zahínos can appreciate the beauty of the dehesas form Extremadura as they stroll among holm oaks and cork oaks. The hiking routes in Zahínos are of great interest to hikers. For his part, Manuel Naharro, Mayor of Valencia del Mombuey, highlighted the main asset of the municipality: its 6,000-hectare communal estate, specially prepared for ornithological tourism. It has a Centre for the Interpretation of Necrophagous Birds, a ringing centre, as well as various photographic hides. In addition, Valencia del Mombuey has a rural accommodation, El Rincón del Paraíso, and hosts the Baja Extremadura Rally.
